Non-Violence…Fantasy or Reality

As I walk in this life, I am constantly flooded with images of violence.
However, I strive for peace of mind, body and spirit.

I watch television for entertainment only to see images of gore and death.
I read books for enlightenment and knowledge only to read about people who promote violence or deception.
However, I strive for peace of mind, body and spirit.

As a young person, I decided that I have control over the type of environment that I am a part of.
I have decided to celebrate non-violence, through the upliftment of my brothers and sisters, the re-education of
peace not violence.

Though I am only one person, I can change the world right where I am.
We have had many role models of peace, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Gandhi, Mother Theresa…they have all left
their mark. They are known for peace and an understanding of the people to re-shape their minds, thus their hearts.

I will one day be a role model. I will be remembered for being one who accepted the responsibility to show peace,
thus help others to know peace.

I strive for peace of mind, body and spirit.
