I Refuse
I refuse to go back to the hurt and the pain
Where I was not myself and therefore acted
outside of myself
Where I accepted lies instead of truths I already knew
Where I fought for love
instead of received it willing
I refuse to go back
to the neglect and loneliness
Where I had to beg for time and a little affection
I refuse
I refuse
I refuse to go back because I've discovered what love really is
