Vision

I take a look at my hands
I see the hands of a strong black woman
I take a look at my legs
I see miles of conquering and challenge
I take a look at my feet
I see footsteps all around me

At some point I thought it was a mystery
but it was those of Jesus walking with me
I looked up above and there were wings
covering me

I realized that they were the wings of God
and I was underneath them
the darkness was from his shadow that protected me
and for every breath that I take
I continue to give God a handshake

For it is he that rescues me
even in my foolish way
He takes my hand and guides me
blesses me to see another day
