The Last Time

The last time you said this is the last time,
I believed you-
Scratch that-
Received you-
Your Words were law
But can you tell me what exactly I saw when I believed those lies...
Standing here contemplating life when I look into those beautiful brown eyes, and drifted....
Drifted so far away from the truth
That your lies became my exception
My massive dose of pleasurable pain, my injection to all things real...
Leading to my deception...
Because the lies were real and they lived in my belief system,
Every single word, every single time...
And the last time you said this is the last time,
I promised myself this would be the last time I let you win
The last time I give you the benefit of the doubt,
The last time I let you in
But then you, you put this hand on me, kissed that spot that only you know exists
Because, because of you, it's there...
Knowing in my mind that to me, this situation is not fair
And if you loved me like you said, you would act like you cared...
But still, I foolishly indulge in the seduction that is you...
Falling victim again to the venom you spew
And weaken my heart till all I see is you...
Verbally encapsulating me in this tiny little bubble of affection for you
Perhaps infection would be a better term to use.
And I want to be, but I can't get you out of my system
Trapped in this vicious cycle and I want to believe that you could only be mine...
Again...
And again...
And I will again, because the last time is never your last time...
