Lula Farris

The nerve of you.
To be confident,
To be honest,
To be beautiful,
When your body said otherwise.

The nerve of you.
To be melodic,
To be sane,
To be supportive,
When your body didn't believe.

The nerve of you.
To be instinctive,
To be fair,
To be majestic,
When your body gave in.

The nerve of you.
To be sensible,
To be God-fearing,
To be caring,
When your body transitioned beyond.

The nerve of you.
To be real,
To be truthful,
To be forward thinking,
When your body is no longer present.

The nerve of you after all these years to
still have an imprint on my heart.
