Dixie

Modern day slave trade
Put on planes to unknown destinations
Urban plantations on sprawling concrete
Discreetly disguised as shelters
Helter skelter cots dropped in spots hot like cotton fields in the midday sun
Crumbs from Massa's table to sustain their hunger
Under greenback paper chains they strain for liberty
"Give us free" they wail
Red Cross jails with debit card bails from FEMA their only way out
And the south will rise again
Whistlin' Dixie as their anthem
