The Evolution will be broadcast

You will not be able to drive down a road, brother
You will not be able to change the channel, turn it off, switch frequency
You will not be able to control the volume or put in a CD you bought
Or that bootleg you made
Because the Evolution will be broadcast

The Evolution will be broadcast
But the Evolution will not be brought to you in part by your local GMC dealer
With 45 minutes of non-stop music
The Evolution will not play 50 Cent
Screaming on the record "G-G-G-G G-UNIT"
Ashanti saying "Aw baby, ooh baby"
Or Omarion screaming "O"
The Evolution will be broadcast

The Evolution will not be brought to you by
The TJMS and it will not give away $1,000 to the tenth caller
And $1,000 to one of the tenth caller 3 friends
The Evolution will not be a part of the Southwest Airlines Sky Show
The Evolution will not be featured on the soap opera "It's your world"
The Evolution will not be a part of any morning show
But the Evolution will be broadcast

There will be no DJ
Taking requests on the request line
Or trying to mix an old school classic with a new school tragic
There will be no listener trying to be the tenth caller when the phone is busy
Trying to when some $5.00 movie tickets
Because the Evolution will be broadcast

There will be no CD sk-skipping
There will be no CD sk-skipping
There will be no Tavis Smiley commentary telling black people what they should do
There will be no "artists" making special appearances just to promote their latest release
And there will be no type of dumb radio contest

Youngbuck, Mike Jones and J-Lo
Will no longer feel the need to make music
Because we will turn on our radio
And the Evolution will be broadcast

There will be no top 8 at 8 countdown
Or playing old school slow jams only after dark
There will be no talk radio on Sunday mornings
On how we as Black People
Can improve Black America
By some politician who is just trying to get re-elected
The Evolution will be broadcast

The Evolution will not be right back after a quick commercial break
It will not be blacked-out, black-balled or degraded by black people
You will not have to worry about
What station it's on, what frequency it is, or what time it's played
The Evolution will not make you nod your head to the beat
The Evolution will make you vibe to the words.

The Evolution will be broadcast, will be broadcast,
Will be broadcast, will be broadcast.
The Evolution will be real music;
The Evolution will get rid of all this trash.
