You Can't See Me

You can't see me through my muscular body,
You can't see me through my low cut, Afro or braided hair
You can't see me through my dark brown eyes,
You can't see me through the close I wear.

You can't see me through my job,
You can't see me through my car,
You can't see me through my home,
You can't see me from afar.

You can't see me through your past experience,
You can't see me through my race,
You can't see me through what others think,
You can't see me through my brown face.

But if you really want to see me,
Stop looking, come closer
and listen to a Black man speak.
