Nothing...Just Growth

When I'm asked why I stayed so long

Why I accepted the roses and ignored the thorns

I told them it was not easy to weed out the roots he planted in me

Being so captivated by the home he was building for me

Being the king to the throne and taking my heart's key

I never noticed the locked door closing in on me

I never felt the pain I was causing the WE

So in order to save him, I had to flee

Because we can never be an US if I'm not a whole ME

But one day, he will return.

Just in time to see

That I'm a Queen he's always desired

The woman I've always craved

I had to save myself

And now I am worthy
