Sunrise

The sun woke to the singing of the birds
The sounds of cars and the fixed time by its maker
I rose with it, with life in me: like heavens in blue
My task, printed in my soul
I feel gay for this new day
This day is bright

The scene is bliss when the sun screamed
When morning held me by hand
I could feel my wants, my needs
My desire not to be afraid of tomorrow
My desire to fulfil my best
Not for anyone to wheel me like a barrow

This day will be the best
By night I will preserve and rest
