Acceptance

I allow loneliness to eat through my skin
Hoping that it will alter my head and ears
So that I may fit in with the other horses

I am a hybrid
Offspring of a jackass and a mare

I allow confusion to rattle my brain
Hoping to discover why my bulk and stature are so different
Causing me to be shunned from the other donkeys

I am a hybrid
Offspring of a jackass and a mare

I allow curiosity to lead my heart
On a journey to a group of mules
Because I am neither a horse or a donkey

I am a hybrid
Offspring of a jackass and a mare
