Release

My house is filled with simple fools
Who-now that you are gone-
Bring wreaths to crown the head that they
In life heaped curses on.

They know you killed my soul within;
Of love and joy bereft me;
Just one kind thing you did for me-
Last night you died and left me.

And yet they fill my house today.
They've come to "mourn" with me;
And I-while they shed Judas tears-
Rejoice because I'm free!
