Elysium

Beloved, tonight
You and I walk hand in hand,
Over hard, barren ground
In the cool, nebulous darkness.
The dusty, trodden road
Rambles along, dingy and grey
From rains and rotting leaves.
The trees murmur in the breeze
Like the sound of distant violins.
Let us return,
You and I,
To the land of dreams
That once was yours and mine.
Let us return
And quench our thirst
At wells of old forgotten memories.
