My daughter

Out I pushed her,
from my womb,
giving her existence,
never knew what it was to be a mother,
truthfully would have preferred a son,
but God gave me a daughter,
didn't want to raise another young woman dumb,
due to denial of my succumb stance,
there must be a chance,
can I be fit,
for the position,
to end this tradition,
make this circle whole,
but in me lies a fear,
to journey up this hill,
I want to make right,
of what I was never gave,
lessons never to be taught,
customs never to be made,
I want a home for my daughter,
a future for her to see,
it's something I didn't get,
but I'm here to give it to she!
