NOW THAT YOU KNOW THE STORY

In the Old Days
There were Double Features
And the occasional Triple Bill.
So we came to the theatre at will,
Any old time in the course of a film.

At first you wouldn't know what was going on
While all around you were in the swing of things.
As time went on, though, you'd begin to get the gist.
Eventually you'd know when and why to laugh or cheer.

And if you happened to linger on and
Catch a second showing of the flicks,
You'd know more than anyone else did
And laugh before the jokes were finished
As if prescient, you'd suddenly become.

Life is like being in a movie house, Back in the Day.
At first, you are completely baffled and bewildered,
But slowly things begin to get clearer + clearer still
Until, you find that there is No One Beyond You.
You are the Wise One, the Wizened One
That they look to, to lead them.
Yes, the Burden is Great,
But the Mission is Clear.
