A POET'S CRY FOR THE REVOLUTION

Believing in fiction is real to some
I fight for truths because they've never been won
Beating down the door of the oppressor
Telling tales on the freedom fighter
Relaxes your dumfounded minds
So I wait to stand
To find that it's my turn
To render a poetry selection
Maybe then you'll listen
Since the world is in such chaos
Revelation said it would be
Everyone's fighting waiting to be free
I will die trying
For the revolution is in me
I stand proclaiming that which is truth
I stand no longer aloof
To remember times of long times past
Testing the waters of hypocrisy
Having my faith in democracy
From the years of then until now
Revolutionaries were called
…Communists and
…Activists and
…Agitators and
…Aggravators and
…Panthers and
…Trouble Makers and
…Freedom Fighters and
…Raised clenched fisted
Black listed
Mammy and Butler depicted
Negro's
As the establishment sewed tales of woes unto
The Revolutionary Heroes
Rise up again, Warriors
Speak the truths to those who don't know
Weave tales of fiction and proclaim it to the rocks
For the stones won't cry out in my place
Place truths where it belongs
In the hearts of the unsung Freedom Songs
