dream of pairing

i dream of coupling
discovering the stranger who'd be one with me
i dream all night long of this man
his face changes but is always full of love
for me / sometimes i manage to hold his hand
once we danced at Xenon's to LaBelle
but it might have been the Jacksons
he threw me over his head & drew
me tween his legs like those old
WWII jitter buggers / the way George
Faison did at Magique on Motown's 25th
anniversary party / i've never let
him kiss me / he wanted to / this stranger
who visits me in my dreams / but that
would be too personal / he's never
told me his name.
