TONIGHT I DATE THE RAIN

Tonight I date the rain
It falls into my arms
Like miniature Nubian Queens
Tumblin' from heaven

One by one
Droplets descending-
Fallin' in an organized sequence
Gently tap kissin'
My brown coated cheeks

This rain forever falls
As we travel the long streets
Of harlem
Each step I make
They are there
Each step I take They are there

We proceed
In a
Companion's mode
Up 110th street
As one

Soaked with luv
I take them home
I take them home

Tonight i date the rain
