sweet release
... anxiety
had her hidden
for years behind
always yes responses
... her
self-sacrificing
soul never knew peace
for even displeasing strangers
held her captive in her timid
vessel
... on bended
knees prayers of
self-empowerment
lingered from her trembling
lips and within an instant
she stood outface as the word
NO erupted from her throat and
spilled into the atmosphere.
