It's not me you see…

When you see that I am laugin
Even though I "should be" cryin.
When you see me lend a hand
To someone that was cruel.
It's not me you see,
It's God's courage livin in me

When you see me smile at my enemies
And help 'em out when they in need…
It's not me you see,
It's God's love shining through me

When you see that I am fastin,
When you see me keep on prayin.
When you see me go to church;
When you see me on the altar,
When you see me in the pews.
When you here me singing tunes…
It's not me you see,
It's God's faith stickin with me

When you see me in the corner,
When you see that I am cryin.
When you see that I am hurtin,
When you see that I'm alone.
When you see that I am struggling,
To carry on this load…
It's not me you see,
It's the PASSION of the Lord

When you see me in the class,
When you see me study w/o rest,
When you see me ace the test…
It's not me you see
It's the wisdom of the spirit… livin within me

When you see me make some choices…
(I know that they're not perfect)
when you see that I have sinned
(don't worry, God is ready to forgive)
when you see me in confession
(it's because I've learned my lesson)
when you see that I have changed,
it's not me you see…
it's God "stripes" that have saved me
